Violeta, Petunia or Papoula????

I have always wanted to have a bulldog. My preference was for the French, but I have to say either the English or the American kind are as special and adorable.
This past Saturday, Randy and I traveled 1 ½ hr to the city of Hesperia to check a litter of American Bulldogs. They were 9 at all, the cutest things. Literally different shapes color and sizes. There some big ones and also some real tiny ones. There were some all white, some white with different fawn markings and only one girl almost all fawn with some white. I checked the kids’ parents and their sister from the last litter. So I learned many things about this kind of dog. They are very friendly and sweet. They can have a lot of energy. Specially when young. The owner, Isabel, had a lot of pride on their dogs, which is great sign. She taught me there are three kinds of American bulldogs; the standard, the puggy, and the Johnson. It seems like the standard is an average built, it looks a little like a bigger Pit Bull or Standforshire. The puggy, the one I was looking to buy is a smaller, chunky with the wrinkles in their nose, kind of like the English type and the Johnson is the big size, very pretty looking – similar to a Mastiff. Different from the English bulldogs that usually have many health problems, the American is very strong and healthy.
Isabel told me that the puggy ones are harder to find and she explained to me how to pick the right one when babies. I should look for those with wrinkles in the nose, with lower teeth over upper teeth, which would make him or her have the bulldog look.
Randy and I decided we would prefer to have a girl and maybe breed her later on.
The picking part was the most difficult. In the end I cut to two. One medium girl with a fawn patch over her left eye and the only girl with the brown coat. They were both adorable. Randy and I decided that the smaller girl, the all white with the fawn patch was the one to pick. Earlier she kept biting my toes as if she was saying: “I am heeere, Pick me, Pick me!!” Now, we just need to wait for her AKC papers to arrive and we can pick her up this weekend. I am so excited! Randy and I have been think about names and I just can seem to define yet. We had planned that whenever we had a female dog that her name would be Petunia, but the we thought about many different names, and suddenly Violet popped up in my mind. Violeta was the Portuguese version for the name of the bulldog at the original Little Rascals. Later on I found out that Pete was his real name.I do prefer Violeta though!

Devil's Reject

Robie Zombie produced a very gruesome, erotic and raw film. I admire his courage. It is a very different horror film from the ones being done now. No special effects, nor lighting treatment. The grainy dirty film and the purposely tacky editing together with all the visual elements in the film makes you think that it was actually shot in the 70’s.
I really liked the characters. I mean, I didn’t like their personalities. They were intriguing, creepy and bizarre. The only small flaw I would point out is the lack of consistency on their twisted attitude when they turn from the position of the prayer to the pray. But that is all. I think it works for me as psychotic, F#cked up piece. I just want to stress that Sherri Moon Zombie, despite part of the twisted “Devil’s Rejects” ugly and filthy Gang, manages to maintain her gorgeous appeal. She is HOT! And FUNNY! It was important to have that feminine figure.
