Domino Effect
This morning I “got up with the left foot”, like they say back in Brasil. Everything went down wrong. First Maggie pooped in the carpet after three attempts of mine to put her on the “we wee pad”. That was a BIG DEAL for me since we have been training her for the past three weeks. I got very frustrated and mad and ended up snapping at her. I know people should never hit their dogs, but I got close to that. I pushed her hard and then screaming “NO!” and “BAD GIRL”, I grabbed her neck and made her sniff both the poop and the pad. She got real sad and ran away from me. Of course that broke my heart and I ended up taking it on Randy, who I thought was not being pro-active enough on dealing with this matter. I left the house upset with Maggie, Randy and myself… In the backyard, where the landlord abandoned (literally) his two dogs (one of them still a puppy) I got my scooter and opened the gate. Of course by this time both dogs ran outside (an everyday ordeal). Patiently I called them and the oldest one came back, but the puppy kept on going and going… Finally I followed her, grabbed her by the tail and carried her back home. By this time, I knew today was gonna suck…
On the way to work, the traffic wasn’t so bad but I seemed to get all the red lights, which I faced as a “sign” for me to stop and think of what I was doing…Sometimes, when we think everything conspires to make your life hell, you need to look inside yourself and find what the real issue is, because most of the times is YOU conspiring against YOURSELF. What I try to do is to go to the source where everything started and fix it, confront it! Make sure it is CRYSTAL CLEAR. Remember “Flat lines”? With Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon and Kiefer Sutherland? That is the way it works… Repair what was wrong in the beginning and everything will work out fine…and that goes for everything in life.
